So this one started out as an ugly fabric design. Notice the very dated brown calico was my ugly fabric. It was transformed by the addition of just a few colors. The deep red is what makes the most difference in my opinion. It pulls all of the others together.
What do you think? Have any ugly fabric in your stash? Send it to me and I will see what I can do with it.
You did very well with your ugly. We are having an ugly challenge with our Quilt Guild - this month's mtg each member is to bring an ugly FQ to drop in a bag - then they will pull one out (site unseen) at the end of the meeting and have to make a mini with it. Yes, we are starting them on something small so we don't scare them.
ReplyDeleteI like the way it turned out, not ugly at all. I want to make one of those stars some day. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat turned out so well. I think the pattern on the brown adds a little interest to all the solids. Great eye!
ReplyDeleteWow! That looks great! Now you have me rethinking some of my uglies. Maybe there is hope for them yet!
ReplyDeleteHello! I just found your wonderful site! I am new to quilting, but even newer to blogging- this is my first. I would love to make your Christmas Tree Skirt, Nov. 2011. How do you send me the free pattern? Thanks so much! Jayne
